| Builder's Club | Wednesday's 7:45 am in the Music room | Mrs. Tegel | Website | | | Drama Club | Sign up for an auditions time slot on Mon 9/13 – Thurs. 9/16/10 | Mrs. Beatty | Webpage | All students who would like to participate and be on stage will be included in the ‘drama experience.’ Students who choose to participate will learn some basic theater skills. These theater skills will hopefully enhance each child’s self esteem, make it easier for him or her to step into new situations, help them problem-solve, strengthen their listening skills, encourage group cooperation, he or she will feel more comfortable interacting with others, and learn some great public speaking techniques. All that I ask is that you only sign up to participate IF you will be dedicated to this club and to its members. Thanks!
| | Environmental Club | Mondays 3:45-5:00 | Mr. Grigson | Website | E-Club reaches as many people as possible with a positive message about caring for the environment, and to show that kids have a voice and they can make a difference. We use art, music, writing, crafts, community action and more! | | LBMS Jazz Ensemble | Thursdays 3:45 to 4:30 in band room | Mr. Rovniak | Website | The LBMS Jazz Ensemble is a talented organization of top instrumentalists who are expanding their playing afterschool. Students enjoy big band style swing, rock, holiday, ballad, and Latin arrangements in addition to the opportunity to improvise. The group is by audition only. | | Newspaper Club | Tuesdays 3:45-4:45 in Room 106 | Mrs. Sopko | Website | The goal of the LBMS Newspaper Club is to be a primary source of news about the school community. Members are self-motivated and independent, coming up with their own ideas for stories and photos. They have excellent planning and organizational skills because they must make arrangements with parents for outside-of-school events and with faculty members to cover events during the school day and still be responsible for their academics. Student members also have excellent follow through – not only taking notes and photos while covering an event, but bringing them to a meeting to write and submit stories and photos. They are young people of integrity, covering their school as thoroughly, accurately, and objectively as possible. | | Ski and Snowboard Club | Registration is the week of Oct. 11-Oct. 14 | Mr. McMorrow | Website | | | Student Council | Every 3rd Thursday of the month | Mr. Lenczewski | Website | The goals of the Student Council Organization will be the promotion and recognition of leadership and the creation of service opportunities. Through our “Student Council” Organization, we would like to significantly involve a significant number of our students in a meaningful and relevant leadership and service opportunities. |
