 New Cornhole Bags!

PTA Cornhole Bags

Thank you to the Hilliard PTA for our new supply of cornhole bags.  Hilliard Phys. Ed. now has 40 new high quality cornhole bags to be used during class lessons and 4th grade tournament play.  Materials and corn were purchased by the PTA.  A very special thank you goes out to Mrs. Tobin who volunteered her time and skills to construct all 40 bags.  These bags will be put to good use for a very long time.

Thank you to the Hilliard Elementary School PTA for organizing our Walk to School Day.  Many students, parents, and staff enjoyed a wonderful morning walking to school from Clague Park. Our walk to school was led by the Westlake Police Department DARE van rockin' to the Beach Boys' music.
 
This annual event promotes walking for several reasons.
  • Physical activity
  • Teaching safe walking skills to children
  • Awareness of how walkable a community is
  • Concern for the environment
  • Reducing traffic congestion, pollution and speed near schools
  • Sharing time with community leaders, parents and children.

 Hilliard Helps the AHA
Since the 2000-2001 school year the Hilliard Huskies have participated in the annual Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser. All money raised goes to the American Heart Association to help pay for new medicines for kids with special hearts and to help doctors discover new medicines and treatments.
