Westlake City Schools Receive
Auditor of State Award with Distinction

STATE AUDITOR PRESENTS AWARD TO CFO MARK PEPERA AND HIS STAFF

Auditor of State Dave Yost personally congratulated the Westlake City School District and CFO/Treasurer Mark C. Pepera for the district’s fourth "perfect audit." Yost said Westlake’s financial report provides an "honest look" at the school district’s finances and "tells the whole story of the financial condition of the district."

Yost also complemented Superintendent Dr. Daniel J. Keenan Jr. and the Board of Education on the district’s Excellent rating on the Ohio Local Report Card, indicating that the school district "must be doing things right."

Westlake Council of PTAs Founders Day Dinner	January 25, 2012
Each year PTA celebrates Founders Day to recognize and honor those who contribute to making a difference for our students and schools. Please refer to the attached invitation and menu for the Feb. 16 event.

Kindergarten Information 2012-2013	January 24, 2012
Westlake City Schools is currently taking registration appointments for Kindergarten for the 2012-2013 school year. Call the registrar at 440-250-1270 to make an appointment. Students must be 5 years old on or before August 1, 2012 to be age eligible to enter Kindergarten. More Information

Westlake Cheerleaders Night with the Lake Erie Monsters	January 19, 2012
The WHS Varsity cheerleaders will perform during the 2nd intermission of the Lake Erie Monsters v. Hersey Bears hockey game on Thursday, Feb. 23. Puck drops at 7:30pm. Ticket information is attached.

Westlake Early Childhood Preschool Program accepting students for possible role models for 2012-2013 School Year	January 04, 2012
The Preschool program provides preschool services to children with disabilities and typically developing peers. We are currently adding names to our list of possible peers for the 2012-2013 school year. If you are interested in having your child participte in this program, please contact the Pupil Services Dept to be placed on the list to be screened on March 2, 2012.

Chinese/Arabic credit flex courses offered for students	January 04, 2012
Ohio's plan for credit flexibility is designed to broaden the scope of curricular options available to students. As a result, the WCSD is offering credit courses in Chinese and Arabic after school begining Jan. 9.
